RCMP detonated homemade explosives in a Port Alberni building following a 911 call.
RCMP controlled detonation of homemade explosive devices caused an explosion at a building on Burde Street in Port Alberni. The RCMP's Explosive Disposal Unit was on the scene at 4800 Burde Street, attempting to dispose of suspected explosive components. The investigation began after a 911 call with people screaming; police found firearms, homemade grenades, and chemicals that could be used to make more explosives at the scene.
