Port Marlborough, NZ, ends iReX project due to government funding cuts; demolition of old ferry terminal planned.
Port Marlborough, NZ, is officially closing out the iReX project following government funding cuts announced in December. Port Marlborough is working closely with KiwiRail and other partners on the wind-down, collaborating with the Ministerial Advisory Group, Ministry of Transport, and KiwiRail. Demolition of the old ferry terminal building, built in the 1960s for Aramoana passenger and freight service, will begin in coming months.
