US Judge dismisses Elon Musk's lawsuit against CCDH for criticism of hate speech on Twitter.
A US judge has dismissed Elon Musk's lawsuit against the non-profit Center for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH), which had criticized him for allowing a rise in hate speech on his social media platform, X (formerly Twitter). Judge Charles Breyer in San Francisco found that Musk's X Corp sued the CCDH because it did not like the criticism and thought the research could harm X's image and scare advertisers away. The judge concluded that X Corp was more concerned about the CCDH's speech than its data collection methods, making this decision a blow to Musk, who has faced criticism for firing too many people who policed misinformation and for allowing more harmful and abusive posts on the platform.
