Easter eggs from popular brands such as Maltesers, Lindt, and Cadbury have increased by at least 50% in price over the past year, according to a study by Which?. The global cocoa prices have spiked due to dry weather in West Africa, causing an increase in the overall price of chocolate. The study also found examples of "shrinkflation," where the size of certain Easter eggs has been reduced. The overall price of chocolate increased by 12.6% in a year, compared to a 5.6% rise in food more generally.
