An adult with a loaded handgun entered Pembroke Elementary School in North Carolina, but staff members contained them in the front office, convinced them to surrender the gun, and a student resource officer removed them from the building. The Robeson County Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident and has determined that the school environment is safe, with no threat to students or staff. Classes continued as usual.
