UConn researchers developed SEEKER, a CRISPR-based search engine for DNA data storage.
UConn researchers developed SEEKER, a CRISPR-based search engine, using CRISPR-Cas12a to identify keywords in DNA data storage, which can store 215 petabytes per gram. SEEKER generates fluorescence when a DNA target matching a keyword is present, enabling rapid and efficient searching within DNA files. This breakthrough may improve the efficiency of data storage and retrieval in DNA.
