Congolese journalist Stanis Bujakera, who has denied all charges, is set to be released soon after serving more than six months in pre-trial detention. The court found him guilty of spreading false information and fined him 1 million Congolese francs ($360). Bujakera worked for Actualité.CD, a Congolese online news site, and Jeune Afrique, a Paris-based magazine. He faced up to 20 years in prison for allegedly incriminating military intelligence in the murder of an opposition politician.
