In Zimbabwe, retailers face challenges restocking locally produced goods due to manufacturers and wholesalers preferring US dollar payments over the local currency. This comes as the Zimdollar depreciates, leading to critical shortages of some basic commodities like sugar. Confederation of Zimbabwe Retailers president Denford Mutashu highlighted the supply chain of basic commodities has dollarised, leaving retailers who buy in local currency at a disadvantage.
