Zimbabwe faces a 1.1 million ton grain shortage due to El Nino-induced drought until March 2025. Cereal harvests have decreased to 868,273 tons from 2.3 million tons last year. President Emmerson Mnangagwa declared a state of disaster and requires over $2 billion to address the drought's aftermath. The private sector can import 1 million tons between April 2024 and March 2025 to assist with the shortfall.
