Malaysia is alleged to be a transit hub for drug smuggling, despite not being a drug exporter or producer.

Malaysia may not be a drug exporting or producing country, but Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Razarudin Husain suggests that there is a possibility it is being used as a transit hub for drug smuggling activities. The country has seized properties worth RM990 million related to drug crimes since 2019 and has dismantled a total of 98 clandestine laboratories. The IGP clarified that drug labs discovered in Malaysia so far are small and produce just enough for local use, with no indication of it being a drug-producing or exporting nation.
