Housing co-operatives, where residents share in the management and running of their accommodation, could help alleviate Australia's housing crisis. Despite only providing 0.03% of all homes compared to Sweden's 22%, new research suggests that developing this sector could help relieve pressure. The study, which surveyed around 300 co-op residents across four states, is the first analysis of Australia's affordable rental housing co-operatives and can provide insights for housing solutions.
