WTO initiates a $1.2m programme with WTO-ITC and NEPC to improve Nigeria's agricultural export standards for sesame and cowpea products.

World Trade Organisation (WTO) initiates a $1.2 million programme to improve Nigeria's agricultural export standards for sesame and cowpea products. WTO Director-General, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, stated that the programme aims to address cases of rejection of Nigeria's products at the international market, due to non-compliance with international sanitary and phytosanitary requirements. Launched in collaboration with the WTO-ITC and Nigeria Export Promotion Council (NEPC), the programme will support international safety and quality certification for sesame and cowpeas in Nigeria.
