University of Alaska system experiences growth in spring semester headcount, first-time freshmen enrollment, and Alaska Performance Scholarships.

The University of Alaska (UA) system, which had faced budget issues and contraction, is now experiencing growth, with a 4% increase in spring semester headcount and a 16% increase in first-time freshmen enrollment. The number of Alaska Performance Scholarships awarded has also risen by 50%. President Pat Pitney highlighted the university's unique roles in addressing Alaska's workforce needs, and its aim to become a research leader in the Arctic.
