21-year-old John Burke from Co Kerry faces jail time after pleading guilty to a bogus charity collection in Skibbereen, Co Cork. Burke, who had a previous conviction for holding a collection without a proper permit, posed as a university student gathering donations for Trócaire. He was caught with €85 in cash and pledges of €154, and admitted to collecting without a permit. The money and materials were seized.
