USCIRF delegation ends visit early in Saudi Arabia after being asked to remove a Jewish member's religious head covering.
A USCIRF delegation ended a visit to Saudi Arabia early after they were asked to remove a Jewish member's religious head covering. The USCIRF delegation was visiting Diriyah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Riyadh, when they were asked to remove Rabbi Abraham Cooper's kippah. Cooper, the commission's chair, refused to remove his head covering, citing his religious observance, and the delegation was subsequently escorted off the premises.
