Irish photo news editor Eamonn Farrell fears providing Dublin riot photos to police may put journalists at risk due to far-right group involvement.
The editor of Irish photo news company Rollingnews.ie, Eamonn Farrell, has expressed concerns that giving photos of the Dublin riots to An Garda Síochána will put photojournalists at risk. Farrell claims that far-right groups involved in the riots are more violent and abusive than any he has encountered. He fears that supplying images to the police would make photojournalists appear as "the eyes and ears of the State," increasing the risk of violence and threats.
