Nanaimo seeks protection for endangered Hosackia pinnata (Bog bird's-foot trefoil) due to a proposed subdivision.

Nanaimo, BC, calls on provincial and federal governments to protect a rare plant, Hosackia pinnata (Bog bird's-foot trefoil), found on Harewood Plains. The plant, Nanaimo's floral emblem since 2010, is endangered due to a proposed 10-lot subdivision on privately-owned undeveloped land near the site.
