100+ MPs seek Parliament veto on UAE-backed Telegraph takeover; Labour considers support.
Tory peer Baroness Stowell urged Prime Minister Rishi Sunak to back new laws that would grant Parliament a veto on the UAE-backed takeover of The Telegraph. The amendment to the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Bill is supported by more than 100 MPs, who believe it is vital to protect UK media from foreign government control. Labour is considering whether to support this measure.
