Several people were killed when a single-engine plane crashed near Interstate 40 in Nashville, Tennessee on Monday night. The pilot had reported engine trouble and was granted emergency landing clearance at John C. Tune Airport, but later informed authorities that the plane would not reach the airport. The plane crashed and caught fire in a grassy median near a Costco, about 3 miles south of the airport. The National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration will investigate the incident.
