Luka Magnotta, who gained notoriety for the brutal murder of Concordia University student Jun Lin in 2012, is now in a medium-security prison, according to Correctional Service Canada. Magnotta was found guilty of first-degree murder in 2014 and is serving an indeterminate life sentence. He was previously housed in a maximum-security institution in Quebec before being transferred to the medium-security facility in 2022. Experts testified during his trial that Magnotta suffered from schizophrenia and was not of sound mind at the time of the crime.
