WaterNSW issued a Red Alert for high levels of toxic blue-green algae at Burrendong Dam, 30 km SE of Wellington, repeating a similar warning in January. The alert applies to untreated water, and people should not consume or allow pets/livestock to drink it. Stock and domestic users on the Macquarie River should monitor supplies & discontinue use if algae appear. Recreational activities are also advised against.
