The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has issued safety guidelines in response to the harsh weather conditions, including high Air Quality Index and dryness, that have prevailed in February. The GHS advises limiting outdoor activities, especially for children and the elderly, wearing face masks to reduce dust exposure, and staying well-hydrated. The extreme weather conditions have increased the risk of respiratory illnesses and meningitis.
