The UN report reveals nearly half of the world's migratory species, including songbirds, sea turtles, whales, and sharks, are in decline due to habitat loss, illegal hunting/fishing, pollution, and climate change. The first-ever global stocktake by the UN Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species shows falling populations in 44% of the 1,189 species tracked. Underwater, 90% of migratory fish species face extinction.
