British Columbia Ministry plans to spray Foray 48B insecticide to eradicate spongy moths.
The British Columbia Ministry of Forests is planning to spray 650 hectares with the biological insecticide Foray 48B to eradicate spongy moths, whose striking patterning and head styles include a "bleached-blond Tina Turner hairdo" on the female specimens. The male moths are darker and have thick brown zigzag stripes on their wings, with two feathery antennae sticking up.
