On January 26, 65-year-old healthcare support worker, Caroline Swan, experienced a stroke while working on a stroke rehabilitation ward at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow. A colleague, charge nurse Sharon Woods, 38, noticed Swan's symptoms and took immediate action, contacting the emergency stroke team and placing Swan on a trolley to transport her to the accident and emergency department. Swan received treatment within 45 minutes and began regaining her speech within two hours. After an ongoing recovery, she returned to her home in Thornliebank, East Renfrewshire, with her husband, Alan.
