46-year-old Mirela Giles from Warners Bay suffered a stroke in February, leaving her with aphasia, a communication disability affecting speech, comprehension, reading, writing, and spelling. Despite feeling healthy with good cholesterol and being physically active, Giles turned to singing, dancing, and holistic health to recover. She shared her story to raise awareness about aphasia.
