Canadian factory shipments fell 0.7% in December 2024, mainly due to motor vehicle sales decline.
On 16th February 2024, the Canadian factory shipments fell by 0.7% in December due to a significant decrease in motor vehicle sales. This marked a weak period for the manufacturing sector in Canada. The manufacturing sales in December amounted to 71.22 billion Canadian dollars(approximately $52.58 billion), as per the statistics provided by Statistics Canada. This decrease was mainly because of a drop in auto sales and those of chemical products.
