WWII-era shipwreck found in Lake Superior.

A shipwreck researcher and the Great Lakes Shipwreck Historical Society have discovered the WWII-era ship Arlington January 2023 - February 2024, which sank in Lake Superior in 1940 during a storm. The Arlington was carrying a full load of wheat and sank after its captain, Frederick "Tatey Bug" Burke, ignored the first mate's suggestion to hug the Canadian North Shore for cover from the storm. All crew members made it to the larger freighter Collingwood, except for Burke, who went down with the ship. The ship was discovered in about 650 feet of water, 35 miles north of Michigan's Keweenaw Peninsula.
