Herefordshire Council painted double yellow lines on a roundabout, resulting from a contractor error, which were later removed, while announcing £106M road improvements over a decade.

Motorists in Hereford were confused and unhappy after workmen painted double yellow lines on a roundabout in the city. Great-grandmother Jenni Gough, 76, and van driver John Dixon, 40, criticized the decision as pointless and a waste of money. Herefordshire Council confirmed that the lines, painted in January, were a result of an error by a contractor and have since been removed. The council also announced a £106 million investment over the next decade into local road improvements.
