Union Information and Broadcasting Secretary Apurva Chandra has been appointed as the Health Secretary as part of a top-level bureaucratic reshuffle. Chandra, a 1988-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, has been approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) for the role. In addition, Sanjay Jaju, a senior bureaucrat and a 1992-batch IAS officer, has been appointed as the new Information and Broadcasting Secretary, replacing Chandra. These appointments are part of a broader reshuffle, with eight other senior officers being appointed in various central government departments and the anti-corruption ombudsman Lokpal.
