Tasmanian premier threatens election to put pressure on independents.

Tasmanian Premier, Jeremy Rockliff, has threatened to call an early election if former Liberal Members, John Tucker and Lara Alexander, do not change their ways. Rockliff claims the parliament is becoming unworkable due to their actions, which have violated the memorandum of understanding they signed last year, promising stability and certainty. Rockliff has written a proposal for a new agreement, aiming to provide the required stability and certainty while allowing the independents to voice concerns on behalf of their constituents. An early election, if necessary, must be held by mid-2025.
