Portland Mercado, a multicultural food cart pod, reopened after a fire, with some businesses unaffected, while a relief fund remains open to aid affected ones.

Portland Mercado, a diverse food cart pod and cultural hub in Portland, has reopened for business three weeks after a fire forced its closure. Food carts are now accepting takeout orders and customers are encouraged to order through third-party delivery apps. The fire, which occurred on January 3, affected a dozen small businesses within the market. The Hacienda Community Development Corporation, which manages the market, launched the Portland Mercado Fire Relief Fund to help entrepreneurs return to work. The fund remains open until January 30.
