A Russian court has sentenced 26-year-old Darya Trepova to 27 years in prison for a cafe bombing in St. Petersburg that killed pro-war blogger Vladlen Tatarsky and injured 52 others. Trepova was convicted of carrying out a terrorist attack, illegal trafficking of explosive devices, and forging documents. In a separate case, a Moscow court convicted Igor Girkin, a former leader of separatist rebels in Ukraine, of extremism and sentenced him to four years. Girkin, who called President Vladimir Putin a coward, had previously been convicted in absentia of murder in the Netherlands for his role in a Malaysian airliner downing.
