Nigerian Federal Government guarantees truthful media freedom for journalists, supporting press freedom and responsible reporting.
The Nigerian Federal Government has guaranteed absolute media freedom for journalists, as long as they remain truthful and responsible in their reporting. This assurance was made by Information and National Orientation Minister Alhaji Mohammed Idris during the 21st annual Daily Trust Dialogue, organized by the Media Trust Group. The minister praised the group as one of the most responsible media organizations in Nigeria and mentioned that under President Bola Tinubu, no journalists have been gagged or questioned about their media spaces. The Nigerian Government aims to support press freedom without fear and encourages responsible and honest reporting.
