The Federal Government of Nigeria has threatened to take legal action against Daily Trust newspaper over allegedly false and inciting reports on the Samoa agreement and other publications. Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, accused the media of publishing unfounded stories against the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The government will lodge a formal complaint to the Newspaper Proprietors' Association of Nigeria (NPAN) and seek redress in court.
