Leaders from Greek and Turkish Cypriots will meet in March for UN-led peace talks after eight years.

The leaders of ethnically divided Cyprus, Ersin Tatar of the Turkish Cypriots and Greek Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides, are set to participate in a UN-led meeting in mid-March to restart peace talks after an eight-year pause. While both leaders are willing to attend, significant disagreements remain over the terms of a future peace deal, such as the division of the island and the presence of Turkish troops. The talks will also involve officials from Greece, Turkey, and the UK, who are guarantors of Cyprus.
