Duchess of Edinburgh visits Nepal, meeting survivors of trafficking at Maiti Nepal shelter.

During her six-day tour in Nepal, the Duchess of Edinburgh, Sophie, visited Maiti Nepal, a shelter aiding survivors of human trafficking and sexual exploitation. She met women who remembered meeting Prince Charles in 1998, and received an embroidered cushion from Anita Shrestha, who also met Charles as a child. Maiti Nepal has helped over 3,600 women and girls and rehabilitated 36,400 people. The royal tour highlights the UK's ties with Nepal and focuses on maternal care and women's rights.
