Irish project to replace a wall at a government office went over budget by nearly 150%.

A project to replace a 70-meter perimeter wall at the Workplace Relations Commission headquarters in Dublin was expected to cost €200,000 but ended up costing over €490,000. Unexpected issues like a live ESB cable and a leaking pipe led to delays and additional costs. The OPW faced significant delays and expenses, including €54,000 for rerouting the cable and €61,500 for closing public footpaths and parking.
