Ukrainian forces killed two high-ranking Russian officers and wounded 22 in a missile strike on Russia.

Ukrainian forces used British-supplied Storm Shadow missiles to attack a command center in Russia's Kursk region on December 30, killing two high-ranking Russian officers, Lt. Colonel Valery Tereshchenko and Colonel Pavel Maletsky, along with six others. The strike also wounded 22 officers. While the Kremlin has not confirmed the deaths, they were announced by the Russian Officers' Ice Hockey League and a friend of Maletsky. The attack comes after Russia's Christmas Day strike on Ukraine's energy sector, to which Ukraine responded effectively, downing over 50 missiles and restoring power.
