Students in Jammu protest for more job opportunities for Hindi and Sanskrit teachers, blocking a highway.

Students in Jammu protested against the local government, accusing it of favoring foreign languages over Hindi and Sanskrit in job recruitment. The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), the student wing of the BJP, led the protest, blocking a main highway. They demand more job posts for Hindi, Dogri, Punjabi, and Sanskrit teachers. The ABVP also submitted a memorandum to the University Grants Commission (UGC) with demands for education reforms, which the UGC acknowledged positively.
