Ohio football coach Tim Albin led the Bobcats to their first Mid-American Conference title since 1968, achieving a 10-3 season. Albin is leaving to become the next coach at Charlotte, replacing Biff Poggi, who was fired mid-season. Charlotte seeks to replicate past successes and join the American Athletic Conference next year.
