Over 2,800 Palestinian prisoners infected with scabies; rights group accuses Israeli prisons of neglect.

Physicians for Human Rights-Israel reported that over 2,800 Palestinian prisoners, more than a quarter of those held in Israeli prisons, were infected with scabies since May. The group accused the prison service of failing to properly address the outbreak, citing overcrowding and neglect as factors. Despite a legal petition seeking intervention, the court later dismissed the case, claiming the prisons were managing the outbreak adequately. The rights group also alleged that the prison service used the outbreak to delay legal visits and court appearances, violating prisoners' rights.
