A train derailment in Assam has disrupted supplies in northeastern states, prompting fuel restrictions.

A derailment on October 31 in Assam's Lumding-Badarpur Hill Section has disrupted the supply of essential commodities, food grains, and transport fuel in northeastern states, including Manipur, Southern Assam, Tripura, and Mizoram. Partial repairs allowed some train services to resume on November 3, but full operations are expected to take longer. In response to supply shortages, Tripura has imposed restrictions on petrol sales.
