Sophia Rosing, a former University of Kentucky student, has been sentenced to one year in prison for a racially charged assault on Black student worker Kylah Spring in November 2022. Caught on camera, Rosing assaulted Spring while using racial slurs. She pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including fourth-degree assault, and was banned from campus after the incident. In addition to her prison term, Rosing must complete 100 hours of community service.
