Parmeshwar Ramnaresh Yadav, the fabricator of a 35-foot statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, has been arrested following its collapse at a fort in Maharashtra's Sindhudurg district. Yadav is accused of using substandard materials and poor welding techniques. The statue, unveiled by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, fell during strong winds in August. Two others, sculptor-contractor Jaydeep Apte and consultant Chetan Patil, were previously arrested for their roles in the faulty construction.
