"Joy," a Netflix film premiering at the British Film Festival on October 15, chronicles the groundbreaking story of IVF pioneers Patrick Steptoe, Robert Edwards, and Jean Purdy. Despite initial rejection from the NHS, they secured funding and established Bourn Hall, the first IVF clinic, in 1980, leading to the birth of Louise Brown, the first "test-tube" baby. The film features Bill Nighy, James Norton, and Thomasin McKenzie and will be available on Netflix starting November 22.
