Former Greater Manchester Police Detective Andrew Talbot, 54, was found guilty of stealing nearly 4 kg of cocaine from police storage and supplying it to drug dealer Keith Bretherton. He misused police resources to aid Bretherton in recovering a £20,000 drug debt. Talbot faces charges of misconduct in public office and other offenses. Both will be sentenced on October 18, 2024, after Talbot's dismissal from the police in August.
