6 arrested, weapons, voter cards, BIVAS machines seized during peaceful Edo State governorship election in which APC's Senator Monday Okpebholo won.

During the Edo State governorship election, the Nigerian Police arrested six individuals for electoral offences, recovering four weapons, 58 unlawfully possessed voter cards, and stolen BIVAS machines. Deputy Inspector-General Frank Mba reported that the election was peaceful and commended the conduct of the electorate and law enforcement. Senator Monday Okpebholo of the All Progressives Congress won the election with 291,667 votes. Further arrests are anticipated as investigations continue.
