Pamlico County Schools held a groundbreaking ceremony for a new facility combining Pamlico County Middle and High Schools into a 6th-12th grade institution, set to open in fall 2026. The $67 million project, funded by state and local grants, addresses flooding issues faced by the current middle school. The 108,000-square-foot building will include various educational labs and gyms, built on higher ground to prevent future flooding.
