China invests $6.1B by 2024 in 8 computing hubs for "east data, west computing" project.

China has invested over $6.1 billion by June 2024 in constructing eight computing hubs as part of its "east data, west computing" project. Launched in 2022, the project aims to enhance data storage and processing capabilities in inland regions and has attracted over 21,000 guests and 414 domestic and international companies at the China International Big Data Industry Expo 2024. By the end of 2025, China aims to establish a preliminary comprehensive computing power infrastructure system.
